King School Data Profile/Analysis Report

Good morning King SIT and King Staff,

Attached is the King School Data Profile/Analysis Report that we've
spoken of during the last few SIT and staff meetings. This is a state
required planning report that is now due each school year in addition
to the School Improvement Plan. I invite you to peruse it at your
leisure, to ask questions, and to give input before Friday, May 20 at
which time the report will be submitted to the Superintendent for
review.

After submitting, I will work to update the King School Improvement
Plan. As of now, I preliminarily anticipate having similar goals for
next school year: reading, writing, and math outcomes related to
future success with algebra. Of course, your input around these areas
is invited as well. If you need additional copies of our current
achievement data, I can provide those for you.

Sincerely,
Kevin

whoops

I mean no SIT on Friday, April 1 . . . really. Not just because it is
April Fool's Day. Seriously.

No SIT on Friday, March 31

Dear King SIT,

There will be no SIT meeting tomorrow morning. I have decided to
cancel it and use the time to focus on the School Data Profile and
Analysis report. This is one of the reports discussed at the last
meeting. I continue to welcome your input. If you would like more
information about these reports, just let me know and I can point you
in the right direction.

I hope you enjoyed the release of the 2010 MEAP scores :-) We'll
certainly take time to look at the scores and discuss Please let
Camille or me know if you have questions/input.

Sincerely,
Kevin

King SIT,

The link to the district's parent input survey for the purpose of school improvement shows below.  Since this has come up at SIT this year, I thought I would let you know ahead of time that the survey will be sent to King families this week.  Feel free to take the survey earlier if you would like.

I am also happy to take your feedback about the survey.  I will be able to pass on the information for future survey revisions.

If you have questions, please let me know.

Sincerely,
Kevin

SIT cancelled for this Friday

SIT for this Friday is cancelled. Sorry since I know how much you
were hoping for an early morning meeting :-) My hope is to meet in
January with a proposal for a "Level 1" math parent education night.

Since the last meeting, Camille and I have met a few times to process
all of your input. In addition, I've met with the district's math
curriculum coordinator to get her ideas. I will also meet soon with
some of the math teacher leaders to gather more ideas before writing
the proposal.

Please know that if you have additional input around math and a parent
education night, I am surely happy to receive it. Sooner is better
than later :-)

Our next meeting is tentatively scheduled for January 7, 2011 at
7:30. I hope to be in touch next week to confirm that time contingent
upon having a solid proposal for the SIT to consider.

If you have questions, please let me know. If I don't see you
sometime in the next week, please have a wonderful and restful break.
Thank you for your help so far this year on SIT.

Sincerely,
Kevin

    King SIT meeting - THURSDAY - 12/3/09!

Camille and I have been working (with many of you) to get things
planned for Literacy Night on January 26 and 28.

As we look forward, it will be important to meet again as a full team
in December. However, the previously thought of date (12/4) will not
work. We're hoping you can make it to a meeting on Thrusday, December
3 at 7:30 in the media center

We'll forward an agenda later. As always, if you have questions,
    please email.

    • Identifying teachers to present at Literacy Night
    • Work on folder handouts for Literacy Night
    • Translation of curriculum materials into Chinese, Japanese, Korean using Title III funds (three most dominant languages at King other than English)
